FP2024.jpg

The Future Physicians Enrichment Program offers hands-on medical training to youth in grades 4th to 8th, led by experienced school nurses and hospital professionals including doctors, surgeons, and nurse assistants. The curriculum covers essential skills such as CPR, First Aid, medication administration including Epipen training, and the operation of medical equipment like Blood Pressure monitors, EKG, MRI, and X-ray machines. Through close examination of anatomy and physiology, students are inspired and encouraged to pursue careers in the medical field, fostering the next generation of aspiring physicians.

Practice On Peer Patients

In the Future Physicians program, students actively engage in hands-on clinical practice sessions with their peers, simulating real medical scenarios and procedures. Through this collaborative learning approach, students refine their practical skills, build confidence, and develop teamwork abilities essential for future medical practice.

Medical Simulation

In the hands-on training sessions of this class, students participate in medical simulation exercises where they interact with lifelike mannequins designed to simulate various medical conditions. Through this process, known as "medical simulation" or "simulation training," students have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a controlled environment resembling real clinical settings. This immersive approach enables students to develop critical skills, practice decision-making, and enhance their confidence before they begin working with actual patients in clinical settings.

Clinical Labs

In this lab-based class, students learn hands-on techniques for taking blood pressure and performing physical examinations on simulated bodies or mannequins.

At the clinical hands-on ultrasound station, students engage in practical, real-world applications of ultrasound technology under the guidance of experienced instructors. This station typically features ultrasound machines equipped with various probes and imaging capabilities.

Students are trained to operate the ultrasound equipment, learning how to adjust settings, manipulate probes, and obtain quality images. They practice proper scanning techniques on anatomical models or simulated patients, honing their skills in locating and visualizing different structures within the body.

CPR & First Aid Training

This class covers CPR & First Aid Training. In hands-on training sessions, students learn how to assess a casualty's condition, provide CPR to maintain blood circulation and oxygenation, and utilize automated external defibrillators (AEDs) when necessary to restore normal heart rhythm. They also gain proficiency in managing various injuries such as wounds, burns, fractures, and choking incidents.Through interactive simulations and practice scenarios, students develop the confidence and competence needed to act decisively and competently in real-life emergencies, potentially saving lives in their communities. These training sessions emphasize the importance of quick and appropriate interventions, emphasizing the critical role individuals play in emergency response situations

Diagnostic Techniques

Students attending the medical program at Deborah Hospital have the valuable opportunity to engage in one-on-one question and answer sessions with distinguished surgeons and doctors. Along with one of one hands-on practice with medical professional guidance. This interactive experience provides students with insights into the medical profession, current practices, and the intricacies of various specialties. Through direct dialogue with healthcare professionals, students can deepen their understanding of medical careers, clinical challenges, and the patient care journey.
